I rode 30 miles once to the beach. After riding that far and a full day of beach volleyball and football, swimming, body surfing, etc. I was bushed! In our area every Saturday and Sunday morning you can see the cycling clubs riding together sometimes 20-30 together. They take up their own lane and sometimes you just have to be patient and wait for an opportunity to pass because these guys and girls won't pull over.

I used to ride trails for hours when I was a kid. I actually broke the front end off of one bike from taking one too many jumps. I don't know what that would translate to in miles, but it's got to be a lot. The longest street ride I've done is the 15 mile round trip from home to Gateway Nat'l Park.

about 60 kms and I'll do it again....maybe tomorrow. I was married to my bike during the summer, but I've been neglecting him a lot lately, so, I will go for one last long ride during the weekend before I park him for the winter.

When I was a kid, I was glued to my bike. Now, I have no bike, but am in the market. In my little tiny town, we have groups of bikers who meet often (a big group meets on Saturday morning) to do their rides in the country and one of these days, I want to join them. A group of friends of mine will bike across the state.

ORIGINAL: raspberry331 What is the furthest you've ever ridden on a bicycle? About 225 miles in one day. It was supposed to be 200 miles, but a group of 12 riders (including me) were racing the course and we missed a turn. We didn't realize our mistake until we had crested a hill and hit a gravel road on the decent. several of the riders went down but no one was hurt seriously. After gaining our composure we stopped and figured out where we had gone wrong and then headed back to the coarse. In recent history the longest I have ridden is 100 miles (some centuries with my kids); however, my older boy is so fast I can no longer keep up with him. He does 100 miles in about 4 1/2 hours (or less)!

160miles. It was supposed to be a double century, but after riding all day in the heat and humidity, I gave up on the extra night loops. That was in 1986. I've regretted it ever since! I've been doing a tour since 1985. It's 210miles in two days. Ds1 has been joining me for the past 4 years. Son is now 16yo and certainly outriding me these days! I started out bicycling in 1982, running in 2005, and am now a triathlete!

A little over 6 miles. I was 10, my sis was 7, my brother was 5 (and still had training wheels on!!). One day we all begged my dad to take us on a different bike route than our usual (about 1/2 mile), so he did. We stopped at a little store and got ice cream, went swimming, and stopped at a friend's house along the way. It was a LONG day though! It was summer, and quite hot outdoors. We kept to the back roads (gravel), and we kept having to stop to get my brother's training wheels unstuck from the potholes. The last stretch before the road home led us up a giant hill. My legs were so tired by then I could barely walk my bike up it. We had fun overall, but we were all sooo sore afterwards!

70 miles. I rode a group charity ride from downtown Kansas City to Atchison KS then back to Weston MO. It was in June a couple of years ago and the day started out cloudy which was a real blessing. Later in the day the sun came out but we were well into the ride by then.
