It's November and this a guaranteed way to ensure I'm not missing out on the new thread.

Dh and J are going kayaking this morning and X and I will probably go to church together.

Then dh and I have to go and buy a new washing machine. It's finally died of old age. We'll probably see if we can get a deal with a new dryer at the same time because our dryer still works but you have to put the door back on every time you wish to use it.

Garsy, I hope everything is ok in your community. I hate hearing ambulances.

We had our big carnival at our church last night, Dana's BFF and her mom and younger sis got to go with us. Had to take two vehicles to get us all there, but it was worth it. They all had a great time. Some of the youth did an awesome, high energy dance to a praise & worship song. I hope they do it again Sunday morning when I'm not having to hold kids in my lap.

Today we went to another carnival at a church just down the road. They had games and then a big hayride. Had fun there too, but I'm glad to be home. I'm wore out. I really should have gone to my aunt's funeral this morning, but I would have had to leave at 7 am to get there in time and it was just a graveside service with no preacher, so I made my apologies and stayed home.

Hubby has a big job interview the week after next. The company is flying him to New Orleans for the interview, he'll be gone two days. This is the first interview he's had in relation to his engineering degree (he graduates in May) so he's really excited. I'm excited, and nervous. I don't really feel like this is going to be The Job, but it'll be nice to have something to negotiate with when he's talking to other companies (if he gets an offer, of course).

Nathan is going to have to have glasses, for reading and classroom work only. Over $300 for the exam and glasses. Bye-bye Christmas money, that's how much we had pulled out of savings for Christmas.

At least gas is cheaper. That helps tremendously.

Hi everybody! I can't believe it is November already. Already it started out kind of rough. I was supposed to have plans tonight, but ended up in the hospital with an asthma attack. Then they gave me those breathing treatments that make you shake, so along with tylenol 3 for the cough, they gave me adavent (sp) for the shakes and I came home and took two more clonozopam and I am still wide awake and shaking. And then they gave me a mega dose of prednazone (sp) 80mg and 40mg more each for the next three days.

I had to leave the boys in charge of the girls but I think it was the only time they got along today. We left them to go to the store and pick up a few Christmas presents and when we got home, our exchange son had actually made a video of Jake yelling and bossing the girls around. I so totally want to send it in to some show because while his behavior was horrible, it was funny to watch. Sometimes he tries to be too much of a parent to them than a big brother. That is frustrating because I don't want him to have to feel that way. And we remind him daily to "stop being a mom" Even if we are right there, he just seems to jump in and take charge and even contradict what we say.

As for our exchange son, he is getting better. We had to take away all of his chinese stuff off the computer and his games, but now he is actually acting like he belongs here. That is so cool. Now I feel like I have gained a son.

Anyway, I need to get to sleep, but still don't feel sleepy. I hate asthma. Have a great day everyone!

Oh my gosh Tracy! My DH is in the hospital right now for the very same reason. We had gone to the carnival at church, took two cars so I could leave early with the little girls. Well about 9 DH came in with older daughter. He is chest was so tight he couldn't talk. So I got him set in the chair, and gave him a breathing treatment. Usually that will at least start to improve the situation, this time nothing. I told him we were going to the ER. Thankfully dd #1 is old enough to take care of the twins. We were there until 1:30 am when they decided to admit him. He had the equivalent of 10 regular breathing treatments, prednison, and they put him on a bi-pap for the night. He's much better now, but that sure scared me.
You rest and take care of your self O.K. I am praying for you.

(((Tracy)))

When they give me pure oxygen it makes me shake.

I was having an interesting time with asthma on Friday. The office next to ours was being painted and it was coming through the aircon. I could feel my chest getting really tight, although I wasn't wheezing.

I'm hoping the smell is gone by the time we get in there tomorrow morning.

It must be going around. Ethan is kinda wheezy this morning so he's taken his inhaler already along with his allergy med - but it's just not cutting it. And he has a NASTY cough to boot. You know - those hacky chest coughs that rattle everything and make it nearly impossible to sleep. The farmers around us are harvesting the last of the crops and all the dust that that churns up is always catalyst to irritating Ethan's lungs and nose. Doesn't help that his school is surrounded on three sides by farmland either and that it's been so nice out that all Ethan has wanted to do is run around and play outside.

We've had a three day weekend and a couple of sick kiddos so heading back to school tomorrow is a welcome happening.

I still haven't heard what took place down at the church, but I'm sure the lady at the post office will know when I go get the mail tomorrow.

Blessings,

Garsy

LOL Garsy, that made me laugh.

The first thought that popped into my head was - all around the world.

Well don't you know, Kylie, that computer keyboards are some of the biggest germ collectors in the world! Some of that must just fly through cyber space and attack whomever they wish!

Ty is supposed to be studying for a BIG biology test that he has tomorrow. Should send hubby up to check on him.

Blessings,

Garsy

Garcy, I know that cough only too well. Especially since I have had three babies, other things happen when I cough.

But I took my prednizone today and I am still feeling tight and coughing, but not as much as I was earlier today. According to the pharmicist, if I am not better by tomorrow, I should be going back in. I have never had it this bad before. Only once before did I need an ER, and they only had to give me a breathing treatment. This time, I had two of those, plus all of the prednizone they gave me, and I am still on another week of it. The dose isn't as high as what they gave me last night, but they said that the 80mg was kind of like a boost. Now I have to take 40mg for the week.

But our weather here has been hot and cold. Literally. One day in the 60's then in the 40's, then in the high 50's and back down. That doesn't help.

But the kids didn't skip a beat. Today while I was trying not to be up walking around alot or even talking since breathing itself is hard, they were sassier than sassy. So it is good to know they aren't worried about me and think I am dying or something. But a little peace and quiet would have been nice.

I don't think the codine is helping my cough and is doing nothing to help me want to be tired. I have used my inhaler so much today and that is probably why. I just can't wait to see my own doc. The funny thing is that the ER doc never laid a hand on me. He did listen to my breath sounds, but never checked my neck for swollen glands or pushed on my abdomen like they usually do. Doesn't that seem weird? I mean I could have some type of infection causing this too, but they heard that I had a history of asthma and that is all they went for.

Anyway, who has to change their clocks back. While I hate the darkness, I love the first few days where you feel like you still have that "extra time."

Changed the clocks here today except for the one over my desk and the one in my van.

Ethan seems to be doing a bit better. The cough isn't quite as scary as it was. At least it's productive and he's getting all the junk out now. He took three inhaler treatments today tho. This is a rarity really. He's take maybe 2 treatments prior to today in the last 6 months. I'll have to give the nurse at school a call tomorrow to let her know how the weekend went and to make sure she calls me if he needs his inhaler so I can bring it in. Neither Ethan or I can take ANYTHING with codine. Makes Ethan's throat close up and I break out with hives and start sneezing like crazy.

I have one of those weeks this week. - busy!

Tomorrow the younger two have basketball evaluations for the church league
Tuesday - Aryn has student council in the morning and I THINK a meeting of her new girl scout troop in the afternoon.
Wednesday - I'm going to have to pick Zoe and Ty up early from school as they both have dental appointments
Thursday - Ethan has an extra rehearsal for his school's 3rd and 4th grade musical
Friday - is a day off for the kids! YEA!

Oh and Aryn's birthday is a week from Wednesday and Brian's birthday is THIS FRIDAY! YIKES! Brian has class and has to work on his birthday, so I thought we'd celebrate on Saturday.

Blessings,

Garsy

Well, Thing 2 is passing math again!!! *dances*

I ordered the school house rock video and mum and I are going to work with him on subtraction as well. He's having problems subtracting 4 digit numbers.

I suggested in another thread that we overload your pm box, but then I read in another thread that mods have way more (maybe unlimited?) pm space than the rest of us.

Not unlimited, but as admin I have quite a bit! But it is still a nice thought, it would have been fun.

Prayers please...

Fell

He didn't make it.

I don't know anything else yet, but please pray for this family. Especially his dad who was working about 6 hours away. He worked overnight and got the call and left to go to the rest of the family. Not only is he driving through his grief, and guilt, he will be fighting exhaustion as well.

He had so much, everything was so RIGHT. He had the things I pray my kids find/learn/earn.

I don't understand.

momma- I am so sorry to hear about that. I have prayed and will pray. I really didn't like some of the comments about the possibility of suicide. They seemed a little calous about it.

Yep! That's my answer and I'm sticking to it.

I'm slowly getting caught up in the threads, I haven't even read much since Larry has been home this week. He had sinus surgery a week ago but goes back to work tonight.

We got the lines for J's electives yesterday. All three of his top picks are on the same line.

Two of those subjects, if he chose to pursue them through years 11 and 12, are prerequesites. It's a pretty big ask making a 13yo choose what subjects may impact which field they end up working in.

And yet they have Design and Technology, Hospitality Practices and Visual Arts on two lines each.
