I'm not a gum chewer generally...but my dentist says chewing sugar-free gum really can be good for your teeth. And I saw a personal trainer on TV talk about chewing sugar-free gum when you get hungry to keep from munching on high-calorie foods. So I'm trying to ease into it. I have discovered some really nasty gum of late, but a few good ones, too. Do you chew gum? What's your favorite?

I've been a gum-chewer since high school at least. Back then, I chewed mostly Trident original in the blue package. For the last few years, I've chewed Orbit bubblemint, sweet mint, peppermint, and/or spearmint. I like cinnamon gum, but can't chew it as it ulcerates my mouth. I'm not big on fruity flavors. A few years ago, my dentist recommended Spry gum, sweetened with xylitol, to chew after each meal. It was a little harder to find and kinda pricey, so I didn't follow his advice (though I probably should have).

When I chew gum I prefer a minty flavor. I don't chew it very often though because of my TMJ.

I can't chew any more thanks to lots of very expensive dental work, but when I did chew, Bazooka was the chew du jour. Save those comics and get great prizes like x-ray glasses!!!

I like the newer flavors that are usually some type of melon with something else, or kiwi something.

Mint is the only one I care for. Juicy Fruit is okay, but I don't like cinnamon as it's too hot for my tongue.

P31, Trident uses xylitol too. I love fruity flavors like Trident watermelon, and Orbitz Maui melon mint.

I tried the Extra Fruit Sensations watermelon and it made my tongue numb. I cannot recommend it. I like the Trident colada something or other and anything cinnamon, but not mint. Blech. Oh--and I like that clove gum, but I can never seem to find it.

I didn't vote. My option wasn't given. I think gum chewing is a revolting habit ~ especially when the chewer lets the world know they're chewing from constant jaw movement and even more when they insist on showing folk the contents of their mouth while doing so. Like Bill, I've had dental treatment that rules out gum chewing even if I liked it. And while some kinds may be 'good' for teeth, chewing can often produce saliva which is then swallowed and in turn produces gastric juices as the stomach thinks it's going to be fed ~ so we feel hungry.

Even as a kid, I wasn't fond of gum. I hate listening to people pop their gum.

I love peppermint/spearmint gum...whatever is sugar free and lasts long. and yes...I do snap/crack it! Moreso when I'm alone...I try to keep it under control around others.

I chew it once in awhile to help me keep from snacking, or if I'm away from home and can't brush my teeth after I eat. I prefer the fruity flavors. My current favorite is Extra's sweet watermelon and I really like it. It really does help me not to snack on things I don't need. I really don't like minty gums...I prefer mints for breath fresheners
